I placed a nice fresh battery into an old Tamagotchi (Version 4.5) for something to entertain me this summer... :) Bliss.
Speaking of Tamagotchi's, the new Bandai has not yet spoken of a release date for it's new Tamatown Tama-Go, but I'm assuming it will be released this summer. If your a fan of those cute virtual pets you were held responsible for as a kid, watch out for the larger, and slightly more expensive Tamagotchi this Summer.
Tamagotchi's have been around for years, but never have we experienced our virtual friends in color... and guess what? We probably never will, unless you speak Japanese.
The Tamagotchi + Color has been out in Japan for about 2 years or so. This Tama is said to be "Japanese-Exclusive." I sent an E-Mail to Bandai, asking them why they would want to keep a product that could get them millions of customers away from America. This was their response:
Nia:
Bandai America appreciates your support of the Tamagotchi products.
Bandai companies as a whole manufactures Tamagotchi toys worldwide but there can be product differences between Japan, the U.S. and other countries for a variety of reasons in each toy brand category. The product lineups are therefore tailored to each market.
We shall keep your comments in mind as we go forward with the Tamagotchi brand toys.
Thank you,
Customer Service

I guess what they said made sense. But, we still may get a colored Tama one day!
